Farewell 2024, Hello 2025!

Farewell 2024!

As we bid farewell to 2024 and prepare to welcome the new year, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my readers for your unwavering support. Whether you’ve attended my book events, followed me on social media, subscribed to my newsletter at booksbyselena.com, or tuned in to my interviews—thank you. Your support has made all the difference.

As I always say, reading frees the mind, but writing heals the soul. This mantra guided me through a challenging year that shaped my journey not only as a writer but also as a mom and wife. I owe my strength to face these challenges to my Heavenly Father, Jehovah, and my Savior Jesus Christ. To say this year was a whirlwind of events would be an understatement. But I’m grateful for my rock-like supporters—my faith, family, and friends. And, of course, for the escape provided by good books.

Here’s a look back at some of the highlights:

Meeting My Reading Goal
Thanks to Audible, I achieved my goal of reading 10 books this year. More than half of the books I read provided inspiration and a means of mental escape.

Publishing My First YA Book
One of my proudest achievements this year was the publication of my first YA book, Cousins. The positive reception it received has been overwhelming and heartwarming. Cousins was nominated by several book clubs for awards throughout the U.S., with readers growing more excited for part two.

Bookstore Book Event
I have participated in many book events in the DMV area, but this year was my first book event at the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Bowie, Maryland. The experience was both exhilarating and humbling. Meeting readers in person, along with some familiar faces, sparked nostalgia. Sharing my journey was truly special, and selling out of my YA book, Cousins, was even better.

Launching My New Website
After a year in the making, my brand-new website went live. It’s a space where readers can stay updated on my latest works, events, and musings.

As we step into 2025, I have exciting plans on the horizon. I plan to release part two of Cousins and possibly a love story novella. I also plan to host a pop-up book event this summer, perhaps at the beach. Whatever my literary plans are, I look forward to continuing this journey with all of you.

Thank you once again for your support. Let’s embrace the new year with hope, courage, and a love for stories that connect and heal us.
